Ahmed Abdulmohsin Al Mahmood
is a strategy and organizational excellence government advisor based in Sharjah, with over 20 years of professional experience in strategic planning, institutional excellence, risk management, governance, and project management. Since 2017, he has served as Strategic Planning Advisor and Government Excellence Assessor at the Central Finance Department of the Government of Sharjah, where he has led the formulation of the department’s vision, mission, and institutional strategy, developed performance management and quality systems, and established frameworks for innovation and business continuity.

Dr. Shifa Mathbout
is a climate scientist, researcher, and policy expert specialising in climate change, hydroclimatology, drought assessment, climate risk analysis, water security, and sustainability. His work focuses on understanding the impacts of climate variability and change on water resources, ecosystems, human security, and sustainable development, particularly across the Mediterranean, Middle East, and North Africa (MENA) regions.
She has extensive experience in climate data analysis, drought monitoring, climate projections, remote sensing, GIS, machine learning applications, and climate risk assessment. His research has contributed to advancing knowledge on drought dynamics, extreme weather events, climate-induced migration, climate-security interactions, and adaptation strategies in vulnerable regions. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and has served as reviewer and editor for leading international journals in climate science, hydrology, environmental sustainability, and risk assessment.
Dr. mathbout has participated in and led several international research and capacity-building initiatives funded by European and international organisations, including projects related to climate resilience, environmental sustainability, water security, disaster risk reduction, and climate adaptation. Her expertise extends to policy advisory work, supporting governments, international organizations, and regional institutions in developing evidence-based climate policies, adaptation plans, and risk management frameworks.
Her professional interests include climate change impacts, drought and extreme events, climate risk intelligence, sustainable water management, climate-security nexus, climate migration, environmental governance, sustainability science, and the application of artificial intelligence and geospatial technologies to climate and environmental challenges.
Through her interdisciplinary research, training, and policy engagement, Dr.Mathbout contributes to strengthening climate resilience, sustainable development, and informed decision-making in regions facing increasing climate and environmental pressures.
